Fiery Multi-Car Crash in Los Angeles Closes Santa Monica Freeway, Leaves at Least One Injured

Santa Monica Freeway

An accident on the Santa Monica Freeway Sunday morning caused multiple vehicle collisions involving eight or nine cars, with at least one of the cars catching fire and becoming engulfed in flames. At least one person is reported to have suffered injuries requiring the person to be transported to the hospital.

The accident occurred around 1:30 in the morning on Sunday, November 10 in the neighborhood of Palms in West Los Angeles. The collisions occurred on the eastbound lanes of the 10 freeway just east of the 405.

A woman has been arrested in connection with the crash and booked into the Los Angeles jail on suspicion of drunk driving. The driver and other drivers involved in the accident complained of pain following the accident, although it appears only one of the people involved in the crash was taken to the hospital.

The eastbound lanes of the 10 were shut down for about 90 minutes while CHP and firefighters worked to put out the fire and clear the road.
